Day 7 - Into Hope, NM

Nov. 29 - Day 7
  • Today was more stretched out dessert and mountains in the distance getting closer. It was also a rough day with 5 miles of dirt road and cooler temps. When we made it to Hope we literally took our last sip of water. In a little tiny gas station was this very nice and informative lady that told us about weather/terrain info. There was a little kitchen and sitting area where we were served chicken tenders and a green chili hamburger, which was some much needed energy. When we left Hope, we headed directly into a 25 mph head wind that tore down our soul. After riding into the head wind and dropping temp we had to stop and set up our tent. We pulled into an overgrown driveway, hopped a fence, and set up camp. That night it was 18 degrees. 51.57 miles 9.3. Avg 5:29:29
