Day 6 - Into New Mexico (updated w/ más pictures)

Nov 28 - Day 6

• Today we had an earlier start and no flats. We ended up near Lakewood, about 20 miles north of Carlsbad, NM. 76 miles for the day. Lots of wind near the end. Up to 30 mph.

Day 5 - Orla (Pictures**)

Nov 26 - Day 5.

• In the morning after breakfast we discovered we both had flat tires, so we had a slow start. Not even an hour on the road we had 3 flats between the two of us. Now there was only one tube for the both of us. 3 hours later we were in Pecos and finally had a DQ to get a blizzard! It's been a while since we've seen a big town, they even had a walmart. Now I don't particularly like Wally World, but what do you think they had? Tubes!!! Presta valve AND the right size (thank you to the Grant family for the gift cards). We finished the day in a town that only has a post office called Orla. 5:08:00 , 90 miles, 14.6 mph avg. Tomorrow we cross into NM!!

Day 3 & 4 Updates

Nov, 25 - Day 3.

• Got into Iraan, Texas on a cold night 30's. After a nice large pizza we ninja camped at the local city park. There was no service at the time. Ended the day with 118 miles. Our longest yet.

Nov, 26 - Day 4.

• Man, those 10 degree sleeping bags came in handy. Someone at the gas station told us it was 18 degrees that night. We had no idea. All we knew was that we were warm. After leaving Iraan we hit the road. The terrain is getting more and more desert-like and mountainous everyday. We didn't have much climbing today and little wind. We made it to Grandfalls, Texas after 80 miles. We are ninja camping in the back of a church and ready for sleep. We can't wait to get to New Mexico !!

Day 4 - It's Chilly...

Today is COLD

45 degrees in Eldorado. We are on our way to Iraan, TX. Stopped in a gas station for fajitas and drink. Back on the road!
